I think the majority of us recognize how frustrating and difficult it is to not have a special space to call your own so you're kinda off the hook for any cattiness (though I haven't noticed any but that could be my general obliviousness).
The kindness of your friends doesn't even really factor into it. You are necessary to us so it is necessary that we have living arrangements for you.
